Coordinate Reference Systems used in Spain
Spain has adopted ETRS89 (EPSG:4258) as the legal datum since 2007 (Royal Decree 1071/2007), replacing ED50. UTM zones 28N-31N (EPSG:25828-25831) on ETRS89 cover the whole country including the Canary Islands. Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) publishes all current cartography in ETRS89 / UTM.
