Coordinate Reference Systems used in Japan

Japan's current geodetic datum is JGD2011 (EPSG:6668), revised after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake to account for crustal deformation. JGD2000 (EPSG:4612) is the previous realisation. Japan uses 19 numbered Plane Rectangular Coordinate System zones (EPSG:6669-6687 for JGD2011, EPSG:2443-2461 for JGD2000) — each a Transverse Mercator projection covering one prefecture or region. The Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) is the authoritative source.
