EPSG:28992 is the Amersfoort / RD New CRS — a Stereographic Double projection on the Bessel 1841 ellipsoid (Amersfoort datum) centred on the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren in Amersfoort. False easting 155,000 m and false northing 463,000 m place all Dutch coordinates as positive values within the country. Units are metres.
RD New is the legal CRS for the Dutch cadastre (Kadaster), the Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen (BAG), the Basisregistratie Grootschalige Topografie (BGT) and almost all national mapping.
