EPSG:6318 is NAD83(2011) — the 2011 (epoch 2010.00) realisation of the North American Datum 1983 produced by the U.S. National Geodetic Survey through a continent-wide GNSS adjustment. It supersedes earlier realisations NAD83(1986), NAD83(HARN), NAD83(CORS96) and NAD83(NSRS2007), each with progressively better alignment to ITRF.

The two have the same name on the surface but differ by up to a metre depending on location, especially in seismically active regions like California and Alaska. The successor, NATRF2022 (and the four regional terrestrial reference frames), is scheduled to replace NAD83 entirely once the National Spatial Reference System modernisation completes.
