Coordinate Reference Systems used in Brazil
Brazil's official datum is SIRGAS 2000 (EPSG:4674), aligned with ITRF and adopted as the standard for all Brazilian geospatial data since 2005. UTM zones 18S-25S on SIRGAS 2000 (EPSG:31978-31985) cover the country. The Albers Equal Area projection on SIRGAS 2000 (EPSG:5641) is used for nationwide thematic maps. IBGE migrated all federal data to SIRGAS 2000 by 2014.
