Coordinate Reference Systems used in Switzerland

Switzerland uses LV95 (Landesvermessung 1995), realised as CH1903+ / LV95 (EPSG:2056) — an Oblique Mercator projection centred on Bern. CH1903 / LV03 (EPSG:21781) is the previous realisation, retained for legacy datasets. Both swisstopo's national mapping and the cadastre use LV95 as the current standard. Conversion between CH1903+ and WGS 84 is accurate to a few centimetres because CH1903+ is aligned with ETRS89.
