Coordinate Reference Systems used in Germany
Germany has officially adopted ETRS89 / UTM (EPSG:25832 for zone 32N covering most of the country, EPSG:25833 for zone 33N covering the east) under the AdV "Geobasis-DE" framework. Legacy state mapping used the Gauss-Krüger zones (EPSG:31466-31469) on the Bessel 1841 ellipsoid (DHDN datum). Most federal and Länder geospatial data is now delivered in ETRS89 / UTM, while older datasets and many cadastral records remain in Gauss-Krüger.
