Coordinate Reference Systems used in Netherlands

The Netherlands uses Amersfoort / RD New (EPSG:28992) — a Stereographic Double projection on the Bessel 1841 ellipsoid centred at Amersfoort. RD New is the legal CRS for the Dutch cadastre, BAG, BGT and all national mapping. ETRS89 / UTM (EPSG:25831 and EPSG:25832) is used for European exchange. Conversion between RD New and WGS 84 requires the official RDNAPTRANS™ transformation for sub-metre accuracy; Helmert approximations give roughly 1 m.
