Coordinate Reference Systems used in France

France's official projected CRS is RGF93 / Lambert-93 (EPSG:2154), adopted by IGN in 2000 and used for all current national mapping, the cadastre and public datasets on data.gouv.fr. The legacy four-zone Lambert Carto system (EPSG:27561-27564) and Lambert II Étendu (EPSG:27572) are retained for historical compatibility. RGF93 (EPSG:4171) is aligned with ETRS89, so transformations to/from WGS 84 are accurate to a few centimetres without grid shifts.
